Sur la couverture, Franky et Señor Pink pleurent dans un bar avec un barman léopard (qui pleure aussi) tout en buvant un verre.
Robin vs Black Maria
Le chapitre commence avec la bataille entre Robin et Black Maria, au point où nous nous sommes arrêtés dans le chapitre précédent. Black Maria commente à Robin que sa forme géante doit avoir consommé beaucoup d’énergie, Robin dit de ne pas s’inquiéter car cette bataille sera bientôt terminée.
Robin utilise une nouvelle attaque appelée « Serpent de mer » (Sea Dragon Flower – 海竜花) en envoyant ses bras géants glisser comme des serpents pour attraper les jambes de Black Maria. Cependant, Black Maria utilise le bout pointu de son arme pour attaquer le bras de Robin. Black Maria se rend alors compte que les dégâts toucheront également le corps principal de Robin, elle continue donc à endommager les bras géants pour endommager Robin.
Black Maria utilise le bout de ses jambes, qui ont des aiguilles empoisonnées, pour blesser également les bras géants, de sorte que Robin n’a d’autre choix que de rétracter ses bras en arrière pour les éviter. A ce moment, Black Maria utilise une nouvelle attaque appelée « Maria Net » (マリア ネット) pour lancer ses toiles d’araignée et attraper les bras géants de Robin. Elle utilise ensuite une autre nouvelle attaque appelée « Oshizumaria » (Binding Maria – お静マリア) pour traverser les bras principaux du corps géant de Robin et rendre son corps sans défense.
Black Maria enfile ses poings américains et commence à frapper le visage du géant Robin avec son attaque « Oiran Knuckle » (花魁 ナックル). Les coups affectent le Robin original, qui à la fin, doit faire disparaître le Robin géant. Puis Robin crée 4 bras géants derrière Black Maria et tente de l’attraper mais Black Maria utilise sa technique « Ikitomaria » (Dead End Maria – 行き止マリア) pour créer un mur de toiles d’araignées et bloquer l’attaque de Robin.
Ensuite, Black Maria demande à son araignée de brûler les toiles d’araignée qu’elle a créées dans la zone. L’araignée crache du feu de sa bouche avec la technique « Atatamaria » (Flaming Maria – 炎上マリア) et enflamme les toiles, créant un mur de flammes dans la zone. Black Maria se moque de Robin.
Black Maria : « Je pense que tu devrais essayer de faire fleurir quelque chose dans cet endroit, même si je pense qu’aucune fleur ne peut s’épanouir au milieu de la mer de flammes ».
Pendant qu’elle parle, Black Maria crée des toiles d’araignée derrière Robin, auxquelles elle se colle.
Black Maria : » Finalement, tu n’as pas pu terminer ce combat rapidement comme tu l’avais dit …. Tu étais venu pour couvrir l’échec de Black Leg, et maintenant que tu as perdu, vous aurez tous les deux l’air stupide ! !! Ufufufufu ♥ Pourquoi ne dites-vous pas au squelette d’éteindre le feu à nouveau ! ? »
Brook, qui écoutait la conversation, répond rapidement.
Brook : « Quelle chose stupide à dire, Black Maria-san. Si j’étais toi, je m’éloignerais de là le plus vite possible ! Yohohohoho. »
Black Maria continue de frapper le vrai corps de Robin, qui est toujours pris dans le filet.
Black Maria : « Tu n’es qu’un outil, Nico Robin ! !! Ton cerveau est la seule chose de valeur que tu as ! Donc tu n’as pas besoin de tes bras ou de tes jambes… ni même de ta personnalité ! !! »
Un petit flashback commence dans lequel Nico Robin repense à l’époque où elle était dans l’armée révolutionnaire. Koala et Sabo veulent lui apprendre à se battre car ils ne pourront pas la protéger après son départ. Koala propose de lui enseigner le « Gyojin Karaté » tandis que Sabo propose de lui enseigner le « Ryuusouken » (poing griffe de dragon). Hack arrive et dit à Koala et Sabo de laisser Robin tranquille car son blocage de jointure est assez fort et elle n’a pas besoin de protection.
Robin dit alors à Koala et Sabo qu’elle devrait apprendre à utiliser ses « paumes ». Koala et Sabo acceptent volontiers de lui apprendre. Robin repense aux quelques fois où elle a utilisé ses « paumes » après le timeskip (comme lorsqu’elle a utilisé sa « Gigantesco Mano » au fond de la mer pour empêcher le Sunny de s’écraser contre des rochers) et pense à l’utilité de ces leçons. Sabo lui a appris à regarder à travers le « cœur » de sa cible et Koala lui a enseigné le mouvement secret du « Gyojin Karate ».
Robin retrouve sa force et utilise une nouvelle attaque appelée « Mil Fleur Gyojin Karate : Giganteum » (千紫万紅 魚人空手 : 花葱) envoyant sa paume géante frapper le plafond et créant une onde de choc (comme le coup de poing « Gyojin Karate ») pour détruire tout le plafond. Les gravats qui tombent éteignent le feu et détruisent la toile de Black Maria.
Robin utilise alors une nouvelle technique appelée « Demonio Fleur » (悪魔咲き) transformant son corps géant en un démon noir avec des ailes de chauve-souris, des cornes et des crocs (peut-être que son corps est noir parce qu’elle utilise le Haki de la Couleur des Bras ?). Black Maria est choquée et crie.
Black Maria : « Démon !? »
Robin : « Je n’ai aucun problème à devenir un démon. Puisqu’il y a des gens qui me font sentir qu’on a besoin de moi… ! Et des gens qui comptent volontairement sur moi pour les aider ! !! ».
Alors qu’elle parle, Robin crée plus de bras autour de Black Maria pour l’attraper.
Robin : « Tu as dit que les bras et les jambes ne sont pas nécessaires, non ? « Embrayage Grand Jacuzzi » (大渦潮 クラッチ) !!! »
Black Maria : « Aaaaaaaaaah !!! »
Dans une double page impressionnante, Nico Robin, sous sa forme de démon géant, s’agrippe au corps de Black Maria jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit KO et saigne de la bouche. En entendant les cris, les subordonnés de Black Maria essaient de voir ce qui se passe mais Brook a créé un mur de glace pour qu’ils ne puissent pas passer à l’autre partie de la pièce. Dans un petit trou dans le mur, ils voient Black Maria inconsciente sur le sol et la forme démoniaque de Robin.
Les subordonnés de Black Maria : « Démon ! ? »
Le mur de glace commence à se briser, mais avant que les subordonnés de Black Maria puissent aller l’aider, Brook s’avance devant eux. Dans une autre superbe double page, Brook utilise une nouvelle attaque appelée « Phrase D’armes Orchestra » (フラーズ ダルム 管弦楽) avec laquelle il les attaque avec une coupe glacée en forme de G-clef, pour les vaincre.
Brook attrape Robin, qui est blessé, tandis qu’un oiseau, Mary, les observe…
Du côté de Luffy et Momonosuke
Au port Tokage à Wanokuni. Luffy mange les réserves d’un mois que Caribou a stockées dans son corps. Les Heart Pirates essaient de demander à Luffy ce qu’il en est de la situation à Onigashima, mais Luffy répond en mangeant, et ils ne comprennent rien.
Shinobu et Momonosuke ont quitté le groupe un moment pour discuter. Momonosuke demande à Shinobu de faire quelque chose pour lui.
Shinobu : « Je ne peux pas faire ça ! Si je le fais, tu sais qu’il n’y a pas de retour en arrière possible, n’est-ce pas ? Et ton corps peut changer mais ton cœur restera un enfant !!! »
Momonosuke : C’est bon pour moi, tant que j’ai une chance de devenir un dragon plus grand ! !! Shinobu, s’il te plaît utilise ton « Juku Juku no Jutsu » pour me transformer en adulte !!! »
Fin du chapitre. Pause la semaine prochaine car le magazine Weekly Shonen Jump sera en vacances (pas de chapitres Jump la semaine prochaine).

Chapter 1021: « Demonio ».
In the cover, Franky and Señor Pink are crying in a bar with a leopard bartender (that is crying too) while have a drink.
Robin vs Black Maria
The chapter starts with the battle between Robin and Black Maria, at the point where we left off in the previous chapter. Black Maria comments to Robin that her giant form must have consumed lots of energy, Robin says not to worry because this battle will be over soon.
Robin uses a new attack called “Sea Serpent” (Sea Dragon Flower – 海竜花) sending her giant arms slithering like snakes to grab Black Maria’s legs. However, Black Maria uses the spiky tip of her weapon to attack Robin’s arm. Black Maria then realizes that the damage will hit Robin’s main body as well, so she keeps damaging the giant arms to damage Robin.
Black Maria uses the tips of her legs, which have poison needles, to injure the giant arms as well, so Robin has no choice but to retract his arms back to avoid them. At that moment, Black Maria uses a new attack called “Maria Net” (マリア ネット) to launch her spider webs and grabs Robin’s giant arms. She then uses another new attack called “Oshizumaria” (Binding Maria – お静マリア) to cross the main arms of Robin’s giant body and render her body defenseless.
Black Maria puts on her metal knuckles and starts punching the giant Robin’s face with her attack “Oiran Knuckle” (花魁 ナックル). The hits affect the original Robin, who in the end, has to vanish the giant Robin. Then Robin creates 4 giant arms behind Black Maria and tries to grab her but Black Maria uses her technique “Ikitomaria” (Dead End Maria – 行き止マリア) to create a wall of spider webs and block Robin’s attack.
Next, Black Maria asks her spider to burn the spider webs that she has created in the area. The spider spits fire from its mouth with the technique “Atatamaria” (Flaming Maria – 炎上マリア) and sets the webs on fire, creating a flame wall in the area. Black Maria mocks Robin.
Black Maria: « I think you should try and bloom something in this place, although I think no flower can bloom in the middle of the sea of flames »
As she talks, Black Maria creates spider webs behind Robin, which she sticks to.
Black Maria: « In the end, you couldn’t finish this fight quickly as you said … You had come to cover Black Leg’s failure, and now that you have lost, you both will just look stupid!! Ufufufufu ♥ Why don’t you tell the skeleton to put out the fire again!? »
Brook, who was listening to the conversation, answers quickly.
Brook: « What a stupid thing to say, Black Maria-san. If I were you, I would get away from there as soon as possible…!! Yohohoho. »
Black Maria continues to punch Robin’s real body, who is still caught in the net.
Black Maria: « You are merely a tool, Nico Robin!! Your brain is the only thing valuable you have!! So you don’t need your arms or your legs… not even your personality!! »
A small flashback begins in which Nico Robin thinks back to the time she was with the Revolutionary Army. Koala and Sabo want to teach her how to fight since they won’t be able to protect her after she leaves. Koala offers to teach her the “Gyojin Karate” while Sabo offers to teach her the “Ryuusouken” (Dragon’s Claw Fist). Hack arrives and says Koala and Sabo to leave Robin alone since her joint lock is strong enough and she doesn’t need protection.
Robin then tells Koala and Sabo that she might want to learn a bit about how to use her « palms ». Koala and Sabo happily agree to teach her. Robin thinks back to a few times she used her « palms » after time skip (like when she used her “Gigantesco Mano” on the bottom of the sea to prevent the Sunny from crashing into some rocks) and thinks about how the lessons have been useful. Sabo taught her to look through the “core” of her target and Koala taught her “Gyojin Karate” secret move.
Robin regains her strength and uses a new attack called “Mil Fleur Gyojin Karate: Giganteum” (千紫万紅 魚人空手: 花葱) sending her giant palm to hit the ceiling and creating a shockwave (like “Gyojin Karate” punch) to destroy the entire ceiling. The rubbles that fall down put out the fire and destroy Black Maria’s web.
Robin then uses a new technique called “Demonio Fleur” (悪魔咲き) transforming her giant body into a black demon with bat wings, horns, and fangs (maybe her body is black because she uses Color of Arms Haki?). Black Maria is shocked and screams.
Black Maria: « Demon!? »
Robin: « I have no problem with becoming a demon. Since there are people who make me feel needed…!! And people who willingly rely on me for help!! »
As she speaks, Robin creates more arms around Black Maria to grab her.
Robin: « You said arms and legs aren’t needed, right? “Gran Jacuzzi Clutch” (大渦潮 クラッチ)!!! »
Black Maria: « Aaaaaaaaaah!!! »
In an impressive double-page, Nico Robin in her giant demon form clutches Black Maria’s body until she is KO’d and bleeding from her mouth. Hearing the screams, Black Maria’s subordinates try to see what happens but Brook’s created an ice wall so that they cannot pass to the other area of the room. In a small hole in the wall, they see Black Maria unconscious on the ground and Robin’s demon form.
Black Maria’s subordinates: « Demon!? »
The ice wall begins to break apart, but before Black Maria’s subordinates can go to help her, Brook steps in front of them. In another great double page, Brook uses a new attack called “Phrase D’armes Orchestra” (フラーズ ダルム 管弦楽) with which he attacks them with an icy cut in the shape of a G-clef, to defeat them.
Brook grabs Robin, who is injured, while a bird Mary is watching them…
Luffy, Shinobu and Momonosuke
Cut to Tokage Port in Wanokuni. Luffy is eating a month’s supply that Caribou stored in his body. The Heart Pirates try to ask Luffy about the situation in Onigashima but Luffy is answering while he’s eating, so they don’t understand anything.
Shinobu and Momonosuke have left the group for a moment to talk. Momonosuke is asking Shinobu to do something for him.
Shinobu: « I can’t do that!! If I do it you know there’s no reverting back, right? And your body may change but your heart will remain a child!!! »
Momonosuke: That’s OK for me, as long as I have a chance of becoming a bigger dragon!! Shinobu, please use your “Juku Juku no Jutsu” to turn me into an adult!!! »
End of chapter. Break next week because Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will be on holiday (no Jump chapters next week).
